Is The Morning Sickness Clinic an OB clinic?

No, the Morning Sickness Clinic is not an OB clinic, and is not directly affiliated with any obstetric clinic, midwife group or any other clinic. Our clinic focuses on treating nausea and vomiting of pregnancy and hyperemesis gravidarum. Pregnant patients should establish care with a physician or midwife trained to monitor their pregnancy.

I’m worried about the effects of these treatments on my baby. What should I do?

This is very understandable. It’s one reason many wait so long to start treatment for morning sickness. Unfortunately, the longer you let your HG or morning sickness continue, the harder it will be to control. When you speak with Dr. Housholder, he will discuss the risks, benefits, contraindications, and side effects of each treatment with you. If you decide that you do not want any treatments either in clinic or at home, we support that. We can still give you IV fluids and discuss future needs.

Morning Sickness Remedies and Nausea Relief in Pregnancy

You’ll find many suggestions and morning sickness hacks throughout the internet: Eat often, avoid your food triggers. Try Ginger, carbonated beverages, lemon essential oils, saltine crackers, cold packs, aromatherapy, acupuncture, anti-nausea acupressure wristbands (sea bands) - the list goes on and on.

Nausea and vomiting of pregnancy affects each person differently. Some of these natural remedies will be enough to “cure” some, and we definitely recommend trying these methods to see if they help.

But if nothing is working, and you are having a hard time keeping food or liquid down, we are here to help with a personalized treatment plan.

Morning Sickness vs HG (Hyperemesis Gravidarum) Symptoms

Morning sickness, actually called nausea and vomiting of pregnancy, is that and sometimes much more. Even with good treatment, some patients will advance to HG. Visit our Morning Sickness and HG page for more about these conditions. And take our symptom severity quiz to help determine how bad your symptoms are.

Morning Sickness Relief

One of the most important things with nausea and vomiting of pregnancy is to get help sooner rather than later. The longer it goes on, the harder it is to treat. Find what works for you, and if you are running out of ideas, make an appointment with us and we will try to help you feel better. We will work with you to try to figure out what you’re comfortable with, whether Mother Nature’s all natural remedies or the newest treatment science has to offer.

What is your cancellation policy?

Things happen, and we understand that! We do want to keep our rooms open for others who many need treatment. Please call, text, or email us as soon as you know you will be unable to attend your appointment so we can open the time slot up for others. If you do not call ahead and do not show up, we will bill your credit card on file a $20 cancellation fee.

Do you offer any discounted plans?

When we bill through your insurance, we are not legally able to give discounts or referral discounts. We do offer payment plans.
