Note: If you are an HG patient or iron patient, the IV fluids are already covered through your insurance and you’ll just pay the add on prices below. If you aren’t a current patient but you are dehydrated, its possible your insurance will cover the hydration portion (fluids) of your IV.
PREGNANCY MIGRAINE INFUSION + $115
You’ll get 2 bags of fluids (base price $85) plus a prescription nausea medication that helps pregnancy migraines, an antihistamine and magnesium. We have migraine infusions for non-pregnant patients, too! Migraine infusions are most likely covered under your insurance so send us a text to inquire about your insurance coverage! 205-772-9595.
BREASTFEEDING/LACTATION INFUSION
High water needs during breastfeeding months increase the risk of dehydration in breastfeeding mothers, which can lead to decreased milk production, fatigue, muscle cramps, headaches, dry mouth, and nausea [3] You’ll get 2 bags of fluids (base price $85). We recommend adding a B12 injection (+$30) and Infuvite (multivitamin, +$85) to your infusion . If you are very dehydrated, your insurance may cover your fluids. Send us a text to inquire about your insurance coverage! 205-772-9595.
MAGNESIUM + $40
You’ll get 2 bags of fluids (base price $85) plus magnesium. Magnesium can help replace nutrients lost in the kidney with dehydration. Magnesium relaxes smooth muscle in the intestines, which may reduce nausea. It may also help relax you, improving stress and sleep. Some studies show that magnesium can help lower blood pressure. This can be given twice a week.
B12 INJECTION + $30
Vitamin B12 can give you a boost of energy and can help with certain kinds of anemia. There is not much B12 in infuvite, so this is a good add on to an infuvite infusion.
INFUVITE (MULTI-VITAMIN) +$85
Given with 2 bags of fluids (base price $85). Commonly called a “banana bag.” Fully replaces your daily required amounts of necessary vitamins. This can be given twice a week. Patients often feel a boost of energy after this infusion. (Adds 1.5 hours to infusion time)
FOLIC ACID + $35
Given with 2 bags of fluids (base price $85). Essential in early pregnancy to prevent neural tube defects. Folic acid is especially important before 10 weeks gestation.
THIAMINE (B1) + $40
Given with 2 bags of fluids (base price $85). Recommended dose for HG patients by the HER Foundation: 100 mg 1 to 3x/day and 250 mg/day minimum after 20 weeks
POTS/DYSAUTONOMIA INFUSION + $115
You’ll get 2 bags of fluids (base price $85) plus a multivitamin (Infuvite) and a B12 injection to boost energy and replenish your body. Your insurance may cover the fluids ($85) but the vitamins will be cash pay.
CALCIUM + $40
You’ll get 2 bags of fluids (base price $85) plus Calcium. Calcium supplementation can reduce the risk of hypertensive disorders, like pre-eclampsia, during pregnancy (recommended by WHO), making calcium supplementation important for HG patients who are at higher risk for hypertension. Calcium is a mineral that builds your baby’s bones and teeth. ACOG recommends 1000mg/day.
THE “HER” INFUSION
MAGNESIUM + B12 + INFUVITE + FOLIC ACID + THIAMINE + CALCIUM = + $175
Given with 2 bags of fluids (base price $85). All these vitamins are recommended by The HER Foundation and Dr. Housholder specifically for HG patients. (Adds 1.5 hours to infusion time)
THE BLOOD BUILDER
FOLIC ACID + B12 + CALCIUM = + $90
Given with 2 bags of fluids (base price $85). Great add-on for an iron infusion (or any infusion!) Folic Acid and B12 are the two main B vitamins involved in building red blood cells. Calcium helps prevent hypertensive disorders, like pre-eclampsia. *Adds 30-45 minutes to infusion time.
ELECTROLYTE REPLENISHMENT
CALCIUM + MAGNESIUM = + $75
Given with 2 bags of fluids (base price $85). Electrolytes such as magnesium and calciumare lost in vomit and/or are not absorbed when you are not eating well. Replenishing your electrolytes can help you feel much better. *Adds 60 minutes to infusion time.
